75 degrees on Dec. 20!!

So one (of many) good things about Oklahoma is that the day before winter can turn out to be 75 degrees! Which made it the perfect day to quit working early and for little buddy and I to go to the park. He is utterly giddy, as you can tell by his happy feet in these two pictures!

John Milo hears something...an airplane! The second picture below is him signing "airplane", just to make sure I know what he's hearing/looking for. We live close to an air force base, so he frequently sees and hears airplanes that we aren't even paying attention to.

That spot below him on the pavement is where he decided to taste what asphalt is all about...
Uh-oh...here comes the moon...almost time to go home. It was at this point he started running away from me.

The dude had such a great time playing on everything, and running through the park...until it was time to leave! No one wants a wonderful day like this to be over!!!

Happy Halloween

John Milo was a farmer (animals included) and Lola was his cow this year (I made those horns!). We didn't really get the gist of trick-or-treating yet, so we just went to our friends' houses. Some little girl asked to pet my "devil dog" and I had to explain she was a cow...I'll make her udders for next year! We also went to a fall party at daycare, which was lots of fun too. Those are his teachers in those pics--we love them!!

Hiking at Sutton Wilderness

OKC Zoo!!

We took John Milo to the zoo a couple of weeks ago...he loved it! He now signs goat, bird and bunny in addition to kitty (which he signed all the time at the cat forest!). We're working on bear and horse/donkey as well.

 What a day!!

Brazil!!! (part one)

Here are some pics from my recent travels in Brazil (to a science conference). In order to put more pics, I'll keep the text to a minimum, let me know if you have questions about where a pic was taken or anything. We were in the town of Foz do Iguacu (mouth of the river Iguacu), and went to the Iguacu Falls, as well as the Itaipu dam (largest in the world) and the local bird park and zoo. Foz is in the crotch of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. It was pretty awesome, the town was interesting, kinda dirty, but definitely worth the visit. We flew to Brazil through Santiago, Chile, so those mountains in the picture are the Andes. Beautiful.
